Abstract

Circuito Fora do Eixo (CFE) is a network composed by almost 70 collectives of cultural agents from all over Brazil, who exchange information and technology, stimulating the production, distribution and circulation of music, visual arts, fashion, literature and theater. CFE collectives work as self-managed enterprises, which managed to maintain their activities in full operation, while being a productive segment and a social-cultural movement. With the experience of the collective “Espaço Cubo”, which organized an exchange system and created the social currency Cubo Card, other collectives from the network began to implement their own currencies, computing their exchange of service and therefore creating a system that organizes the production and trade in services, products, knowledge and technologies in a more efficient way. This system, beyond organizing and accounting for the workforce, products, goods and services invested by each collective, also acts as a catalyst for the development of the collectives in their territories in order to expand the conditions for sustainable economic activities and establish favorable conditions for the practice of solidarity, trust and cooperation. On that behold, the network structured the Fora do Eixo Solidarity Bank, coordinated by the axis of sustainability of the network, the Fora do Eixo Card
